The Final Step

Over the Mid-Sem break we were asked to do a few things. One was to add three gradient/textures into our chosen Electroliquid Aggregation to reflect the Clients perspective on the world.

I then added to the terrain, with more trees, grass and more ambient material.

I played around with the lighting, and managed to achieve a very beautiful sunset effect which I was proud of. It added to my final scene so much and I love it.

I uploaded the Crysis Files to 2shared.com. The link is below to access my files.

Here are my close-ups of my textures.

I love this picture. It encapsulates everything that I wanted to get out of this Experiment. The scenery and shadowing is amazing, and portrays the Clients views very effectively.

I love this waterfall I created. It adds so much to the scene. It makes the scene complete, and adds a depth to the structure and surrounding environment.

Textures/Gradients

Here is a sample palette of  Textures. The final uploaded ones are below.

This one is my favourite. I like it because it is a dynamic gradient. The picture itself changes with every darkness setting. It transitions from straight lines into a tessellating set of arrow heads.

Parallel Projections

This week we were asked to combine 2 of our axonometric structures together. We were constrained to using only 5 rectangles for one shape, so combined it is 10. This made it much more complex structure and more interesting when related to the three clients. We were asked to shade a set of parallel planes to emphasise the dimensions of the structure.

The green portrays one component, and the red portrays the other.

Here they are inserted into the Crysis landscape. They are starting to make sense in context of the 15 hypothesis that we developed at the start of the session.

Axonometric Drawings

Here are my sets of Axonometrics. I got slightly carried away as I enjoyed this type of drawing and wanted to have a large selection which I could choose from if need be.

I then created a few of these in SketchUp and proceeded to import them into Crysis, just to play around. Here are my subsequent Fraps.

I really enjoyed playing around with Crysis, and am expecting alot for the next few weeks. Its amazing what you can do with the technology and especially within the Computing Rchitecture field.

Experiment 2

And here we go again...

This is the land that I started with. I had a few options, but I decided on a "Island Paradise" as I know this game very well and it seems only right for the character to run through this type of environment. Where the sunset overpowers anything else, and the ambience is relaxing. Trees sway casually in the wind, and high up in the mountains where the Laboratory will sit seems like a very empowering place to be. It allows the artesians (Agnesi, Freud and Newton) to portray their life through a very mental level. Enlightening. :)
